Marking a major milestone in Australian coin history, the 2025 Australian Kookaburra 2oz Silver Proof High Relief Gilded Coin honours the 35th anniversary of The Perth Mint’s iconic Kookaburra series. A tribute to one of Australia’s most cherished native birds, the kookaburra is famed for its distinctive, laughter-like call that resonates through both the outback and city suburbs.

Struck from 2oz of 99.99% pure silver, this exceptional coin features a high relief strike that brings the detailed artwork to life. Enhanced with 24-carat gold gilding, the design depicts a majestic kookaburra resting on a tree branch, framed by radiant sunburst motifs. A special privy mark pays homage to the original 1990 release, while the outer ring and kookaburra shimmer with rich golden tones.

The reverse includes the ‘KOOKABURRA 35th ANNIVERSARY’ inscription, The Perth Mint’s signature ‘P’ mintmark, as well as the coin’s weight, purity, and 2025 year-date. Designed by Sean Rogers, this release beautifully blends tradition with elegance.
