Did You Know?
The Chinese zodiac follows a repeating 12-year cycle, with each year represented by a different animal. The Goat is the eighth animal in the zodiac and is traditionally associated with creativity, compassion, and harmony. The phrase “Three Goats Bring Bliss” reflects an auspicious Chinese expression connected with good fortune and positive new beginnings.
Plum blossoms also hold special significance in Chinese culture. Because they bloom during the colder months, they are often associated with perseverance, resilience, and hope. Together, the three goats and plum blossom tree create a meaningful composition that celebrates harmony, family, and renewal.
Collector's Note

Design & Presentation
Three Goats and Plum Blossom – Reverse Design
Designed by Natasha Muhl, the reverse portrays three goats at different stages of life grazing peacefully beside a plum blossom tree. Inspired by the traditional “Three Goats Bring Bliss” theme, the artwork combines symbols of family, prosperity, resilience, and renewal. The Chinese character for Goat and The Perth Mint’s distinctive “P” mintmark complete the detailed composition.
King Charles III – Obverse Design
Designed by Dan Thorne, the obverse of each coin features the effigy of His Majesty King Charles III. Surrounding inscriptions identify the coins’ weight, fineness, and monetary denomination, completing their official Australian presentation while providing a contemporary counterpart to the traditional lunar imagery featured on the reverse.
Proof, Coloured Proof and Gilded Presentations
The trio showcases three different interpretations of the same lunar artwork. The classic proof coin emphasizes polished and frosted surfaces, the coloured proof edition adds vibrant colour to the design, and the gilded version introduces gold-toned highlights. Together, these finishes create an elegant visual contrast while maintaining a consistent Year of the Goat theme.
Exclusive Lunar Trio Collection
With an issue limit of 1,500 sets, this release offers collectors a coordinated selection of three premium silver coins. The proof and coloured proof coins each have a maximum mintage of 7,500, while the gilded coin has a maximum mintage of 25,000. Bringing these three finishes together in one set creates a distinctive collection piece and a meaningful gift for Lunar New Year celebrations, special occasions, and collectors of Australian Lunar Series III.
